Seventh Avenue Water Main Replacement
As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring reliable service and public safety, the City of Tallahassee implemented robust utility and infrastructure improvements along Seventh Avenue between Centerville Road and N. Gadsden Street.
- In 2023, sections of the existing sanitary sewer were rehabilitated with a cured-in-place (CIPP) lining, and roadway reconstruction of approximately 80 linear feet of Cherry Street and Colonial Drive were completed to improve the roadway connection to Seventh Avenue.
- The water utility enhancements portion of the project began construction in June 2024 and included upgrading approximately 4,500 linear feet of existing water main and replacing water services and existing fire hydrants. This work will result in reduced maintenance activities, improved system capacity, increased fire protection, a safer corridor and continued reliable service for years to come.
With the underground utility improvements completed earlier this year (2025), the roadway will be resurfaced starting in fall 2025, creating a smoother, safer drive.
This project represents a significant investment by the City toward maintaining and improving its utility systems and infrastructure. We hope you will be pleased with the result and appreciate your patience during construction.
